Kølingsip™ was born from the brilliant mind of Dr. Stig Peitersen; a soft-spoken Dane, a Texas resident, a Board Certified neurosurgeon, chemical engineer, avid tinkerer, and inventor. He also loved a good cup of coffee! So, with the perfect cup of joe in mind, his ingenious idea, a “cooling lid” invention, was patented in 2004.
After Dr. Peitersen’s untimely death in 2020, his loving family wanted to honor his legacy in innovation. They named his cooling lid invention Kølingsip™, with a nod to his Danish roots. It has been manufactured exactly as Stig envisioned it; a way to enjoy a steaming hot beverage immediately without burns or spills!
